A driving practice logbook that works like the paper log sheet — because that is what it replaces. Many licensing authorities ask learner drivers to record their supervised practice hours: date, minutes, day or night. Driving Hours Log keeps that record on your phone, one drive at a time, in about thirty seconds.
WHY THERE IS NO GPS
This app does not track your drives, and that is deliberate. Automatic trackers drain the battery, cut a drive short after a ten-minute stop, and want your location around the clock. A practice log needs none of that: you drove, you know for how long, you write it down. Driving Hours Log has no location permission at all — nothing to grant, nothing running in the background.
HOW TO LOG A DRIVE
• Type the minutes — exact minutes, not 15-minute blocks
• Tick night driving if it was after dark
• Pick the weather and the road type: city, highway, rural, parking lot
• Note who supervised — a parent or an instructor — and add a short note
• Tap "Save Drive". Log today's drive today, backfill an earlier one, or edit a saved entry later.
THE HOURS, VISIBLY
The home screen shows this week's minutes day by day, and Insights adds your minutes week by week — plus how much of your logging happens in the morning, evening, or at night. History lists every drive newest first, night drives labelled, with filters by weather.
YOUR RECORD STAYS YOURS
There is no account and no sign-in — nothing to register, no password to lose, no server migration that can wipe months of hours. The app works completely offline and keeps every entry on your device. Free means free: unlimited entries, no subscription, no premium tier. Banner ads only — never a full-screen ad after saving.
READY FOR SUBMISSION DAY
Export the entire history to a CSV file at any time — date, minutes, night driving, weather, road type, supervisor, and notes. Open it in a spreadsheet, print it, or copy it onto the official form.
WHAT THIS APP IS NOT
This is an independent logbook. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by any licensing authority, DMV, or government agency. Hour requirements differ from place to place — check your local licensing authority's requirements, and use its official form where one is required.
Permit practice log. Minutes & night drives. No GPS, no account, free CSV.
